Technology

Dr. Young emphatically believes in continuing education and maintaining the latest advances in dental equipment to improve out patient's dental health and overall well- being. In cosmetic, and family dentistry, precise results are best achieved by means of sophisticated technology and a progressive approach to patient care. Our practice offers the latest in computer, digital, and laser technology. With advanced technology, we are able to detect and treat dental disease in its early stages, preserve more of our patient's natural tooth structures by utilizing minimally invasive treatments.

To provide the best dental experiences for our patients, Dr. Young's practice is equipped with:

Autoclave Sterilization An autoclave is a pressurized, self-locking chamber that heats solutions above their boiling point, effectively killing all micro-organisms. A central part of our infection control system, we use autoclave steam sterilization on all of our dental instruments. Proper sterilization is paramount to patient safety and allows us to carry out our work in an optimally clean environment. Our sterilization practices meet and exceed accepted sanitation standards. back to top

CEREC® Technology The CEREC® chair-side dental system and laboratory work in tandem, enabling us to give our patients metal-free ceramic onlays, crowns, and veneers in a single office visit, and metal free bridges in two days. We use bio-compatible ceramic materials that bond well to the teeth and closely match their natural color for optimum esthetic results for our patients. back to top

Computer Imaging Digital photography, high-resolution imaging software, and state-of-the art monitors allow our patients to preview the options of cosmetic and restorative dental procedures. Before any dental work begins, we can photograph our patients and then graphically enhance their teeth to create "after" photos that simulate their clinically-enhanced smiles. Computer imaging allows our patients to be part of the dental design process by enabling them to choose the look they prefer before treatment. back to top

DIAGNOdent® The DIAGNOdent® is a diagnostic laser tool that enables us to locate dental decay in its earliest stages and treat it before it compromises the integrity of the tooth. With the DIAGNOdent®, examinations are simple, quick, and painless because there is no poking or prodding of the teeth. Early detection with lasers is beneficial since it usually means that air abrasion, rather than traditional drilling, can be used to eliminate decay. back to top

Digital X-rays Advances in digital radiology allow us to X-ray our patients safely and quickly. Because a digital X-ray system requires no film, it reduces patient radiation exposure by 80 percent and eliminates hazardous waste. Patients simply close their mouths on digital sensors -- instead of on film -- while computers process the imagery. Within seconds, the digital images are ready for viewing. back to top

Intraoral Cameras Intraoral cameras allow Dr. Young to capture video of the inside of your mouth. The intaoral camera transmits the images of your mouth to a monitor. Our specialized software enables us to enlarge these images, freeze them, or view them in real time so that we can make accurate diagnoses and discover dental disease in its early stages. With images from intraoral cameras, we can create accurate documentation of your dental condition and obtain a quicker response from the patient's insurer, who can see the evidence first-hand. back to top

Diode Laser We use the diode laser to treat soft tissue problems such as gum disease and to perform minor surgical procedures. Because the diode laser is a precision instrument that emits pulses of energy too quickly to cause a neural response, there is typically no pain. It stops bleeding, seals lymphatic and nerve endings, and minimizes inflammation. Many procedures can be done without anesthesia, and most patients report minimal to no post-operative discomfort. back to top

KCP Air Abrasion Air abrasion technology allows Dr. Young to treat decay in it's early stages to minimize your tooth loss. A stream of air with powder removes the decayed tooth structure without having to use a drill. Many patients love this treatment option simply because it sounds as if you are at the beach. back to top

Laser Technology In Dr. Young's practice, we use The Odessey Navigator diode laser system, as well as the DIAGNOdent® diagnostic laser. These advanced dental laser systems provide patients with safe, minimally invasive, and virtually pain-free diagnostic and treatment options. back to top
